In his talk Dr. Gupta discussed the origin of vaccines by Edward Jenner in 1721 to the latest and modern approaches in vaccines that are presently in use. Dr. Gupta also discusses the traditional approach to vaccine development to the recent advances of DNA vaccines, edible vaccines, transgenic plot vaccines, ski patch vaccines, peptide based vaccines and carbohydrate vaccines. He told the students about the eight management principles of Customer Focus, Leadership, Involving people, Process Approach, System Approach, Continual Improvement, Factual Decision Making, Mutually beneficial Supplier relationship etc. He also laid emphasis on self Entrepreneurship development amongst the students.
