The Department of Food Engineering & Technology was started in the year 1996 with B. Tech. (Food Engineering & Technology) course. In year 2006 the department started M. Tech. in Chemical Technology with specialization in Food Technology, approved by AICTE & affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.

The department is currently offering M. Tech. in Chemical Technology with specialization in Food Technology (Two years course) with intake of 18 students and B. Tech. in Food Technology (Four year course) with intake of 60 students. Since the year 1996, Fifteen batches have passed successfully and the students are placed in various companies in India & abroad in big brands of food sector such as ITC Foods Division, Cadbury, Nestle, Cargill Foods, Amul, Britannia, Parle, Bikano, Ecolab, Pepsi Co. India, Dabur, Priyagold, Reliance, Perfetti, Mahan Proteins, Satnam Overseas, JVS Foods, Coca Cola India, Farelabs etc.
